To me life is a journey that has many challenges. To succeed there are no shortcuts and you need to work hard to achieve your dreams. The only failure is when you decide to quit. As a kid growing up in America with immigrant parents from Asia, my family didn’t have a lot, were considered poor and made a lot of sacrifices coming here. I’m sure many people who immigrated to America can relate to the story. However, despite not knowing any English and not having much money my parents managed to open a grocery business. They had the will and found a way to do it. That’s how I learned at an early age about hard work and not quitting. Also sharing and giving to others are some of my family attributes. For me it feels better to give to someone rather than receiving something. It’s just a good feeling seeing joy in someone’s face when you give. Furthermore, as an Asian American I believe you should embrace both cultures and be multicultural. Don’t ever forget where you came from your roots but respect other cultures that make up America.
